I first sat down with Lidia to talk about her wedding plans and how
important it was to her to capture her Russian Orthodox wedding ceremony. So I
was thrilled when she asked me to come the day before to see the rehearsal. I
got to meet the whole wedding party and the parents before the wedding day, which
is a rare privilege. On the wedding day the ceremony took place at St. Seraphim Russian Orthodox Monastery in Nanuet and it was an amazing thing to see such a special ancient rite full of profound symbolism
and meaning.
Then it was time for the celebration to start at the New York Country Club. After the cocktail hour the dancing begun. This wedding had the best dance floor !! there were some serious dancing skills being preformed. They played the Gopak - a Russian song
during which the guest get into a circle and people do traditional Russian dances in the middle
of it. All night you could feel the energy of all guest having a great time, eating, drinking vodka and celebration none stop.
